The Beginning of fire | An Apache’s Myth| Canada

Animals and trees used to communicate with one another at the beginning of time. At the time, only fireflies had a fire. Fox was cunning, and he intended to acquire fire for the globe. He needed to discover a method to take some from the fireflies.

Fox once begged the geese to teach him their call. They said that he must first learn to fly with them before they will teach him. The geese bound the fox's wings. 'Do not open our eyes while you fly,' they cautioned him.

Fox glided alongside the geese; his eyes closed. They glided above the firefly community as the day faded tonight. Fox blinked his eyes wide. His wings immediately ceased functioning. He collapsed inside the walls of the fireflies' settlement. Two helpful fireflies arrived to assist the fox. They showed him a cedar tree when he inquired how he could climb over the wall. They told him that if he begged the tree, it would bend down. This sparked an idea in Fox.

When the fox requested the fireflies to dance that evening, they gathered wood and built a large fire. Fox attached a piece of cedar bark to his tail in secret. Then he constructed a drum and banged it while the fireflies danced about him.

After a while, the fox seemed to be exhausted and gave the firefly his drum to beat. When they were not looking, the fox whacked his tail in the fire, igniting the bark. Then he dashed to the cedar tree and said, 'bend down for me!'
The cedar tree sagged, and the fox got on top. When the tree re-emerged, it lifted him over the wall. Fox ran and ran, and the fireflies followed him. The fox's tail set fire to the shrubs and trees along the route everywhere he went.

When the fox located the hawk, he gave the bird the burning bark. A hawk soared high over the ground, scattering fire sparks everywhere. This is how the fire spread over the planet.

When the fireflies seized the fox, they told him, 'Because you took our fire, your penalty is that you will never be able to utilize it for yourself.'

To this day, no fox cooks with fire.

However, this was just the tip of the iceberg for the Apache’s. They discovered how to utilize fire to prepare meals and stay warm.

The Apache in Canada began to migrate south hundreds of years ago. They came to the Texas panhandle in the early 1500s. Other tribes referred to them as the "new people." However, they referred to themselves as "Dine" or just the people. During the long voyage

The Frog Whose Belly Burst

While playing in a field, a tiny frog noticed a cow. When the tiny frog returned to his father, he told him about a frightening monster he had seen. He towers over the mountain. He stands four feet tall and sports horns on top of his head. “My son!” exclaimed the father frog. It's an ox who lives on the farm! “I've never seen such a nasty monster before,” said the newborn frog."

"Ha Ha Ha!" It isn't that huge. “It's only a little bigger than me,” replied Daddy Frog. The daddy frog inhaled deeply and swelled up his cheeks. “Was this an ox as enormous as this?” he inquired. “Much greater than that,” the young frog responded. The tiny frog expelled air, inflating his tummy. “No!” “No! It's a lot bigger!

As the father frog ingested more air, his stomach and entire body expanded in size. “Was this son as big as the other?” “No!” said the son. It's a lot bigger than that! You can also read The Strange Egg if you like.

The daddy frog ate as much air as he could to grow in size and brag about his efforts. “Probably an ox wasn't as big,” he grumbled. Bowwow! Bang! His gut exploded before he could finish. "Oh, my stomach!" What a poor stomach! Ahhhh!” The father frog wept. “Dad, oh, daddy!” The little frog screamed.

This amusing short storey for children has grown in popularity over the years. Most individuals merely use search engines to hunt up information and never go any farther until they stumble on this tale. This storey may also be found on numerous other children's YouTube channels. This storey does not have a lot of stuff on YouTube for kids, but it is still a highly enjoyable little hilarious narrative for kids that anyone of any age may enjoy.

Birbal and the farmer

A farmer was looking for a water source for his land, he purchased a well from a neighbour. The neighbour, on the other hand, was astute. The next day, when the farmer came to get water from his well, his neighbour refused to let him.

When the farmer inquired as to the reason, the neighbour said, "I sold you the well, not the water," and walked away. Disgusted, the farmer petitioned the emperor for justice. He described what had occurred.

Birbal, one of the emperor's nine wisest courtiers, was summoned. Birbal then questioned the neighbour, saying, "Why don't you let the farmer d
raw water from the well?" You did sell the well to the farmer, didn't you?”

“Birbal, I did sell the well to the farmer, but not the water within it,” the neighbour said. He has no legal authority to collect water from the well.”

“Look, since you sold the well, you have no right to keep the water in the farmer's well,” Birbal remarked. Either you pay the farmer's rent or you take it out right away.” When he realised his plan had failed, the neighbour apologised and went home.

Cheating will not get you anything.

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch

Molly the milkmaid had filled her pails with milk one day. Her job was to milk the cows and then sell the milk at the market. Molly enjoyed deliberating over how to spend her money.

She thought about all the items she wanted to buy as she filled the milk pails and went to the market. As she strolled down the street, she considered purchasing a cake and a basket full of fresh strawberries.

She noticed a chicken a bit further down the road. “With the money I acquire from today, I'm going to buy my own chicken,” she reasoned. When that chicken lays eggs, I'll be able to sell milk and eggs and make extra money!”

“With more money, I'll be able to buy a gorgeous dress and make all the other milkmaids jealous,” she continued. Molly began skipping out of excitement, completely forgetting about the milk in her pails. The milk soon began to pour over the rims, covering Molly.

Molly, drenched, exclaimed, "Oh no! I'll never be able to afford a chicken again.” She returned home with two empty pails.

“Oh, my God! “How did you end up?” Molly's mother inquired.

“I was too busy daydreaming about all the items I wanted to buy to see the pails,” she explained.

“Oh, Molly, my darling. “How many times do I have to tell you, ‘Don't count your chickens till they hatch?'”

Worth Sharing!!!

A man slaughtered a hefty cow and remarked to his daughter as he started the grill. “Daughter, invite our family, friends, and neighbours to join us for dinner... let us feast!" His daughter ran out onto the street and began yelling. "Kindly help us in putting out a fire at my father's house!" After a few seconds, a small number of individuals emerged, while the remainder pretended not to hear the cries for assistance.

Those who came ate and drank until late. The father, speechless, looked to his daughter and said. “I hardly knew the individuals that arrived, and some of them I'd never seen before, so where are our family, friends, and neighbours?"

“All those who came out of their homes did so to assist us in extinguishing a fire in our home, not to attend the party.

These are the ones who are deserving of our kindness and compassion."

Conclusion:

Those who did not assist you during your fight should not be invited to your victory celebration!!

Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Crisis Requires Immediate Action

Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Crisis

Human Rights Watch recently stated that international donations to Afghanistan should take immediate action to ensure that critical aid reaches Afghans facing famine and collapsing health systems following the Taliban takeover on August 15, 2021. They must also devise a concerted plan of action to address education, banking, and other serious matters that require collaboration.

Due to security concerns, staff evacuations, closures, and legal ambiguities, most of the previous Afghan government is no longer functional, and humanitarian relief and other assistance supplied by UN agencies and civilian organizations have been severely hampered. UN Secretary-General António Guterres issued a warning on August 31: “A humanitarian disaster is approaching.”

Human Rights Watch’s associate Asia director, Patricia Gossman. “To avoid exacerbating an already terrible situation, donors should agree to support international agencies and nongovernmental organizations that can give emergency food, health, and education aid, as well as develop a plan to address assistance directly with the Taliban.”

Afghanistan is in the midst of a massive economic downturn. Food and other basic prices have soared, despite the fact that most banks are still closed, and the UN has warned of cash shortages and possible food shortages. Moreover, 30% of the country was enduring extreme food insecurity before the Taliban’s takeover; now it’s over 40%.

In December 2020, UNICEF reported that 3.1 million of Afghanistan’s nearly seven million children under the age of five were severely malnourished, implying that “a startling 1 in 2 children under the age of five is in need of acute malnutrition treatment services to save their lives.”

Most international aid to Afghanistan’s government agencies and institutions was discontinued immediately before and after the Taliban took control. The Taliban have cut Afghanistan’s Central Bank off from the international financial system and access to the country’s foreign currency reserves.

The International Monetary Fund has also denied Afghanistan credit and assets, purportedly at the behest of the United States, including around US$440 million in Special Drawing Rights the bank has set up in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. The Central Bank of Afghanistan is unable to receive fresh paper Afghan currency produced in Europe due to previous UN Security Council resolutions putting sanctions and other restrictions on the Taliban for terrorism-related conduct.

The complex set of sanctions imposed on the Taliban by the United Nations Security Council, as well as sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, and many other governments, should be reviewed to ensure that they do not obstruct the delivery of humanitarian aid by non-governmental organizations.

The school system, which now enrolls nearly seven million students, 38 percent of whom are girls, will urgently require additional foreign finance. Nongovernmental organizations have played an important role in education, but they only educate a few hundred thousand pupils outside of the state system. Donor states should encourage the Taliban to open all schools and let girls and women to attend at all levels without fear of being intimidated or threatened.

Nongovernmental organizations’ main function in the health sector has been to deliver services on behalf of the government. They cannot replace the state system, which has relied on international funding delivered to the government through a World Bank-managed trust fund before being distributed to provincial groups. The Taliban should keep the system in place and pledge not to discriminate in the provision of services.

What does the fall of the Afghan government mean for Europe?

The escape route

The sudden loss of Afghan government forces and the Taliban’s takeover of power stunned Europe, sparking a heated discussion about the consequences for European strategy. While the United States was the driving force behind the Western engagement in Afghanistan and set the policy, other European countries contributed significant troops and resources to the fight. Now that effort is a shambles, Europeans are faced with a slew of inevitable questions. In the first instance, they are concerned with the best means to get their countrymen, as well as those who worked with them, out of harm’s way. However, in the future, they must consider the lessons learned in Afghanistan for their policies on security, stability, relations with the US and other regional powers, and migration, among other things. This collection brings together policy professionals from across the ECFR’s programs to discuss how the Taliban’s control affects Europe’s key interests and significant partners.

NATO

The dramatic conclusion of the Afghanistan mission will unavoidably raise the issue of military interventions in the future. Since 2014, NATO's focus has switched back to its fundamental purpose of deterrence and territorial defense, from out-of-area deployments. NATO member nations are experiencing a wave of intervention weariness. The United States is clearly unwilling to act as the "world's policeman" after the "forever wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan. During the Obama administration, this could already be observed in Syria.

European dependency over the US

As a result, the pressure on Europeans to participate in crisis management in their own backyard has intensified. The European Union will have to increase its commitment to crisis prevention, stability, and peacebuilding in the future. The Europeans' reliance on American skills has been amply proved by the Afghanistan mission. The Europeans would be unable to evacuate their own soldiers and local Afghan forces from Kabul without US military assistance.

Germany Questioned

Simultaneously, the disastrous Afghanistan operation has many Europeans questioning if military deployments are even necessary. Many observers and officials, particularly in Germany, think that the operations in Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan have taught us that we should no longer engage in this type of action. Many people wonder what the years of training Afghan armed forces, deploying European soldiers, and investing vast sums of money have yielded.

No more persuasion about

This is to be assumed that European politicians will find it more difficult to persuade their citizens of the benefits and legitimacy of military deployments elsewhere. European member states will have to examine their current military missions, which might have substantial significance for France and Germany's commitment to the Sahel.

No place for the same mistake again

Simultaneously, Europe cannot isolate itself from the world's problems or imagine itself as a blessed island. Instability will come to Europe if Europeans are no longer committed to regulating their surroundings. It is critical not to make the same mistakes that were made in Afghanistan. Rather than overburdening requirements, future military interventions must have a clearly defined and feasible goal, as well as the tools to achieve it.

The Role of Illustration in Children’s Book

The Role of Illustration in Children’s Book

Illustration means to highlight a particular point through colorful fascinating images. These illustrated images can be found in the Middle Ages hand-written books as well. But these images can be differentiated from other paintings, sketches, or drawings easily.

From the children's learning point of view, these illustrated images are to be designed in such a way as to teach them the real meaning of the text. These illustrations might be capable of transforming a straight simple story into an interesting one.

A child learns the text easily through an illustrated image that helps that child to identify and understand the whole scenario. That’s why illustration is a very important segment of the children's book. Sometimes some books use illustrations more than the text.

Young children learn the text more easily through pictures. They respond to the pictures comparatively higher. These images ease the text for the children to grasp the meaning.

If you are holding a fascinating story with you but you may not have the great illustrations for it. Don’t wait to write, start extracting the fascinating moments out of your mind. You can easily get some of the good, illustrated images from the internet. Some companies provide your required images. Or you by yourself learn some software applications in You tube tutorial to draw for your illustrated books.

Illustrations are not only related to children’s books but now all the fields of the profession require drawings, especially in print and visual media. In short, a child is to be more attractive and enters the world of words with the help of an illustration.
